B’Odogwu is the codename for clearance system, a subset of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), developed under the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) digital transformation agenda. In your letter, state that you want to change the email on your TIN. The FIRS will reset your email to your choice, to enable you follow the registration process.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I AM UNABLE TO LOGIN AFTER REGISTRATION?
This happens because you or someone started a registration process, but failed to confirm the final registration link from UCMS (United Customs Management System). Firstly, during registration, you will receive an email that reads “dear xxxx@gmail.com (your email), you are successfully registered in UCMS.” Secondly, you will get another email that reads “Dear user, you need to confirm the email before you can access the web portal.” Failure to confirm your email means that that you cannot login. Hence, you must go back to your email and search with the keyword UCMS, and confirm your email.

BODOGWU FAQs: WHO PROCESSES FORM M AND PAAR ON THE BODOGWU PLATFORM?
In the previous trade portal, the importer, his agent or the bank, and even the exporter can process Form M. The processing party just need the login to the portal to initiate Form M application. Whereas, the Applicant’s Dealer Bank alone can make PAAR issuance request from the Nigeria Customs Services. However, in the novel bodogwu system, the bank does not apply for Form M and PAAR any longer. Therefore, the importer or anyone with the company login information is to make Form M application.
BODOGWU FAQs: WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR FORM M PROCESSING ON BODOGWU?

- The proforma invoice for items of import.
- Cargo insurance certificate
- The regulatory agency certification like SON PC and NAFDAC import permit, or end-user certificate, etc.

WHAT STAGES DOES A FORM M REQUEST UNDERGO FOR REGISTRATION?
There are 3 stages to Form M registration via bodogwu:
- Stage 1: Form M application by the importer or his consultant
- In stage 2: a junior bank officer from the chosen bank reviews and recommends Form M or returns it if there is an error or missing information.
- Stage 3: a senior foreign trade officer of the applicant’s dealer bank validates Form M
- Lastly in stage 4: the bodogwu team of Nigeria Customs Services registers the Form M.
Note, Form M return can be at any stage. The fact that a junior bank officer says all is fine, is not a final say. The senior officer or the NCS can still spot an error and query or return the Form M.
WHAT DO I REQUIRE TO ISSUE PAAR ON BODOGWU?
As in the case of the Form M, PAAR processing requirement is the same as in the old trade portal. The following are the list of documents for PAAR processing:
- Firstly, you need the transport document; the bill of lading, the air waybill, the road waybill, etc.
- Secondly, the commercial invoice is required.
- Thirdly, the packing list is must attach document
- Fourthly, the applicant must attach the SONCAP or other regulatory permits for items not regulated by SON alone.
- Fifthly, the certificate of origin is needful to apply for PAAR on bodogwu.

WHAT MUST I DO IF MY FORM M AND PAAR ARE RETURENED BY THE BANK?
If the Form M or PAAR has a query, the applicant is required to view the Form M or PAAR, amend and resubmit it. The bank will review again and validate if all things are good.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN FORM M AND PAAR ARE REGISTERED?
You will receive an automated email, whatever happens on the submitted Form M or PAAR. Equally, the status of either Form M or PAAR changes from submitted to recommended, validated, registered or returned as the case is.

Ordinarily, Form M applications display on login to the page, but what happens if the applied Form M are many. Then, the search is necessary. Click on “SEND TO DECLARANT” and search for the name of the agency (declarant). The agency, who is a registered declarant, will generate SGD and the assessment notice for duty payment.
