BUSINESS PLAN EXAMPLES: Tell us about yourself, personal bio and what led you to become an entrepreneur (200 words)

I am self-starter who would stop at nothing in identifying unsatisfied desires of the people and transforming same to a profit-making venture for me and others who work with me while serving the target people. Among the times I have seized opportunities are: first, when I setup a bookshop in front of a secondary school close to my house. Second, when I ran a telecom call center in the year 2000 in front of my hostel and other locations, at the spread of GSM in Nigeria. Thirdly, when I setup a popcorn production shop near a market square.

This inborn tendency to change the world for myself and others, coupled with my quest to learn more is the motivating force behind my determination to becoming an entrepreneur. Hence, having excellent Information Technology knowledge and the understanding of the opportunities therein, I decided to build my business in this domain. To enhance my skills, I have embarked on travelling, education, training and certifications including the use of different software platforms and systems. One of the gems I have got in recent time is 3 months entrepreneurship training from the African Management Initiative courtesy of the Nigerian Bank of Industry – BOI.

BUSINESS PLAN EXAMPLES: Describe your leadership skills and experiences for running the business (150 words)

My leadership skill is team building. As a senior documentation person, I have engaged a team of 3 for about a year by sharing my vision of the team, allowing all to do the same; practiced open communication by transparently sharing allowed information. Also, I built Trust and Mutual Respect; through being fair, reliable and accountable. Again, I have built Effective Working Procedures; shared work without formal rules. Lastly, I ensure Continuous Learning; doing after action review. The results of this teamwork are: we implemented a new filing and indexing system for files resulting in greater ease of access, implemented a system that eliminated document rejections by clients.
